Basil Khalil
Basil Khalil is a British-Palestinian filmmaker with a masters in filmmaking from Screen Academy in Scotland. His short Ave Maria (2015) premiered at the prestigious filmfestival in Cannes and went on to be nominated for an Academy Award for Best Live Action Short Film. A Gaza Weekend (2022) is his first feature and it won the FIPRESCI-Prize at the Toronto Film Festival where it had its premiere.
